Access to Library Resources and Services

ONLINE RESOURCES

Access to any of the library's online resources is available in the library or on campus without password requirements.

BBCC students, staff, and faculty may access the library's online resources from off campus through the library's portal page.

Contractual agreements prohibit off campus access to online resources (other than our catalog) to any user other than registered BBCC students, staff, or faculty. Sharing passwords with non-BBCC associated users will result in academic and possibly legal charges being filed. Passwords may change periodically for security reasons.
 

SERVICES

The library offers the Books-by-Mail service to BBCC students living 50 miles or further in driving distance from the main campus. 

Catalog - Voyager, the library’s online catalog, includes the library’s book, video, CD, LP and eBook holdings.  Searches cover all collections except web based resources.  Access to Voyager is available via the library’s web page.  No password or login is required.

Circulation of Materials - information about borrowing and returning library materials

Faxing is available through the campus bookstore.

Interlibrary Loans - The library will gladly attempt to borrow materials from other libraries for your use. Requests are placed through FirstSearch. Materials usually arrive fairly quickly but it can take 7-14 days or more so plan accordingly. Contact Teresa Curran for details.

Media Viewing is available in the study rooms. The library’s computers have the ability to play CDs and DVDs. Headphones are available at the Service Desk.

Printing – BBCC students receive a complementary deposit for printing each quarter and access the account with their network login and password.

Other users need to create guest accounts. Please ask for assistance at the Library's Service Desk.

Funds can be added using student or guest ID numbers at the library’s Printer Cash Machine. See the BBCC Printing Policy posted next to the cash machine or the library’s web page for details.

Reserves - Instructors often place books, videos, etc. on reserve for library use only.  These items are available at the Circulation Desk.  Time limits may apply.

A Scanner is available. Please ask for assistance at the Library's Service Desk.

A Typewriter with a correction ribbon is available.
