John Carpenter, Division Chair

                                            

   

John Carpenter grew up in the mountains of northern Idaho and his heart is still there. He is in love with the outdoors—his free time spent chasing deer, elk, turkeys, and ring-neck pheasants. As a young man, Mr. Carpenter worked in the Idaho woods and sawmills until his career path took an abrupt turn; at 35, he enrolled at the University of Idaho where he discovered he enjoyed studying and teaching literature.

Mr. Carpenter usually teaches ENGL& 101 (Composition I), ENGL& 102 (Composition II), ENGL& 220 (Shakespeare), and ENGL& 244 (American Literature I), ENGL& 245 (American Literature).

Hobbies:  hunting, hand-loading, target shooting, training hunting dogs, reading, writing, and grading papers.
