Who is Likely to Benefit from TRiO-SSS?

Students often are not prepared for what is expected of them.  Typical concerns for students include returning to school after being out for several years, poor preparation in writing and math, inadequate study skills, or anxiety and lack of confidence.  The TRiO-SSS staff works with students on an individual basis enabling them to succeed.

Who is Eligible?

Eligibility is determined by federal guidelines.  If neither of your parents graduated from a four-year university, you are financially disadvantaged, or you have a documented physical or leaning disability, it is likely that you qualify.  In addition, you must be a U.S. citizen or Resident Alien, and have demonstrated an academic need for the program.  TRiO-SSS will provide testing and documentation of academic need.  Preference is given to students seeking an AA&S Transfer Degree.

How do I sign Up?

Call 509.793.2040 or drop by the TRiO-SSS Office in the Administration Building, Room 1433.  You will be given an Application for Admission for the program.  If you meet eligibility guidelines, you will be signed up for an intake interview.  During this session, a staff member will help you develop a plan for success at BBCC.
