Program

Big Bend Community College’s TRiO-Student Support Services Program is a federally funded program designed to help students find success in college. This program is currently funded to provide services to 186 students. TRiO-SSS students benefit from academic support, progress monitoring, success workshops, and academic / transfer / career advising.

TRiO-SSS Program Goals

TRiO-SSS helps students:

Develop the writing, math, learning and critical thinking skills necessary to succeed.
Maintain a GPA necessary to achieve their individual goals.
Make a commitment to BBCC and integrate into the campus community.
Develop the interpersonal and communication skills necessary to excel in college.
Discover ways to achieve independence and maintain a sense of self worth.

Even if you have been out of school for many years or feel totally unprepared for college expectations, the TRiO-SSS staff will work with you one-on-one until you have the skills and self-confidence you need.
